Hairy Maclary excursion

Middle Indigo Junior students visited the Hairy Maclary, Lynley Dodd exhibition at the Albury Library Museum. The students viewed the original illustrations from many of Lynley Dodd’s books and then were read many of the Hairy Maclary collection by the Museum staff. Students then created their own Hairy Maclary pictures for our school wall. After this, the Museum allowed the students to view the storage area of the museum where there are hundreds of items not on display. Here the students got to see local Aboriginal artefacts, bags and objects from Bonegilla and other olden day’s things such as lanterns, drills and a BED PAN!!! (This brought much shock and laughter to the children).

Students also visited the Albury Botanical Gardens, in particular the dinosaurs in the children’s garden. They had an amazing time in Albury for the day with many children asking if they can go again soon!
